Anna Walsh on Rape & Sexual Assault

Working in the Rape & Sexual Assault and Domestic Abuse Teams, Anna was shocked and frustrated by engendered stereotypes and attitudes towards women and sexuality. The consistent links between family and domestic violence and sexual abuse were unacceptable, and she began her mission to combine her two passions: feminism and pleasure!

After having two children, Anna understands the important part that sexuality and sensuality plays in every woman’s health throughout her entire life. She believes that every woman should know how to access her body’s ability to give her pleasure.

Whilst on maternity leave with her second child, Anna created sexual wellness brand happymash: an ecommerce store for people with vulvas. happymash creates content for cis women, as well as non-binary people who understand that the space centres around the pleasurable experiences of women.

Through her debut range of pleasure products, Anna introduces The Know Yourself Range to Aussie vulva-havers, encouraging them to get to know themselves intimately, and ultimately “close the orgasm gap”.

Now Anna embarks upon Sexually Healthy Cities with Co-Founder Keesha Booth, to create a series of Sex Education workshops with accompanying online learning portal for universities, organisations and businesses to come together to activate conversations around great sexual health – this is the Sex Ed we wish we’d had!

With their aim to create sexually intelligent cities, Anna and Keesha want to link universities, businesses and their employees with the essential local knowledge, tools and services to be able to prevent family & domestic violence and empower people to embrace their sexuality as a healthy and natural part of their sense of selves.

About Anna Walsh Pleasure Able.

Anna’s intention to close the pleasure gap extends to her social enterprise Pleasure Able whereby she is undertaking research and development into a bespoke pleasure product for people with disabilities to eradicate pleasure ableism – orgasms for all!

As a regular presenter on ABC Radio’s ‘Risky Business’, Anna uses her voice and active platform to persuade women to know their worth, speak up, and most importantly touch and pleasure themselves for better physical and mental health.
